BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

Heather Lyuis an undergraduate student in the OSU Dance Department. She came to the US for college one year ago from China. She studied in Wuxi No.1 High School, the international department and graduated with IB course diplomas in two years. She was edified by her grandfather and aunt, which influenced her to be a dancer and artist. She started to learn Chinese classical dance and traditional dance more than 10 years ago and moved to contemporary and ballet. As an international student, she wants to encourage more people to learn Chinese dance as a way to learn more about Chinese culture. Heather was inspired by her grandpa, who is a Chinese Shuimo painting artist in China, and learned how to draw as soon as she was old enough. She learned Visual arts in high school and had her own art exhibition in 2018. She is familiar with many materials and elements in the arts, and she has her own focus and style after graduating from high school.
